Korea-China Bilateral Symposium on Ciliatology (Jeju 2026) 

1st Round Notification

 

Dear Colleagues and Students, 

 

The Korea-China Bilateral Symposium on Ciliatology (Jeju 2026) will take place from 19 to 22 August, 2026, on Jeju Island in South Korea. The conference aims to provide a platform for international peers to exchange ideas and collaborate, showcasing the latest research achievements and progress in the field of ciliate protozoology in recent years. It will establish a showcase conference for the Korea-China bilateral partnership. Topics covered will include the taxonomy and systematics of free-living and parasitic ciliates, cell and molecular biology, diversity and evolution, ecology, genomics, development and differentiation, and all fields of ciliatology.

III. Organizing Unit: Laboratory of Biodiversity at the University of Ulsan, Korea 

 

IV. Conference Content: Committee meeting, academic symposium, and field trip 

 

V. Conference Date and Venue: 

• Date: August 19-22, 2026 

• Venue: Jeju National University Training Center (UNIPARK) (address: 1397-1 Bomok-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, South Korea

 

VI. Conference Program: 

1. Conference registration will be open shortly. For special requests, please contact the conference secretariats (boronglu@ulsan.ac.kr or boronglu@126.com or gaof@ouc.edu.cn).

2. Conference Program (tentative): 

- August 19: Arrival, registration, welcome ceremony, and committee meeting 

- August 20: Opening, plenary sessions, and general sessions 

- August 21: Field trip and banquet 

- August 22: Closing and farewell. 

 

All sessions include Q&A time: Plenary Session (30 minutes), General Session (15 minutes), Graduate Student Session (10 minutes). 

Please allocate time for Q&A when preparing your presentation. 

Presentation PowerPoints should be prepared in 16:9 format. 

Posters should be prepared at 0.8 meters wide by 1.2 meters high. Participants are responsible for printing their own posters; the conference organizing committee will provide adhesive tools.

 

VII. Conference Registration Fees: 

Conference registration fees are as follows: 

1. Regular delegates (working professionals, postdoctoral researchers, etc.): 350,000 KRW (or 1,750 RMB)

2. Student delegates: 160,000 KRW (or 800 RMB) 

 

Important Notes:

1. Pay the registration fee and submit the abstract to the conference secretariats by July 15, 2026. For each remittance, please enter the following information in the remittance memo or notes section of the payment: “Remitter's Name + Organization Name.”. 

2. After making payment, please submit the payment information by filling out the following Conference Secretariat. Each payment will be issued a separate receipt.

3. The abstract should follow the standard format (title, authors, affiliations, content) and the content should be no longer than 1,200 characters (or 200 words) and prepared in English using MS Word. Please indicate the presenter's affiliation and whether the presentation is oral or poster.

VIII. Meals and Accommodation expenses: Conference participants are responsible for their own travel, meal, and accommodation expenses. Accommodation and rates (recommended): Jeju National University Training Center (UNIPARK): Double, Triple, and Quadruple rooms: 44,000 - 88,000 KRW.
